Troubleshooting

When a llama doesn't answer, sign-in trouble, codes and limits.

  1. A llama didn’t answer, or says it’s waiting for a Mac? Its Mac is off, asleep or offline, or the Mac app isn’t open.
  2. Open Llamabyt on that Mac, with Claude Code or Codex signed in. When it’s back, the work starts.
  3. Stop a llama with Stop on its run card.
  4. “This comes with …” means you’ve reached a limit of your plan. The prompt shows what the next plan adds.
  5. “The Anthropic API key was rejected”: the key was revoked or ran out of credit. Replace it in Settings → AI keys (⋯ → Replace the key).
  6. Still stuck? Write to hello@llamabyt.com.

Troubleshooting

A llama didn’t answer, or says it’s waiting for a Mac. Its Mac is off, asleep or offline, or the Mac app isn’t open. Open Llamabyt on that Mac. If it still doesn’t start, check that Claude Code or Codex is installed and signed in on the Mac.

“I’m not connected to a Mac yet.” In the llama’s settings, choose which Mac it runs on (Runs on), or switch it to the cloud.

A cloud llama can’t start. It needs an API key: Settings → AI keys.

“… has used its AI budget”: the project reached its monthly AI budget. An owner or admin can raise it in Settings → AI spend, or it starts again next month.

“… the most one task may spend”: the llama reached the workspace’s cap per task. An owner or admin can raise it in Settings → AI spend. Ask the llama to continue once it’s raised.

“… needs the Llamabyt app 0.6.0 or later”: your company has llamas on Macs think with the company’s keys. Update the Llamabyt app on that Mac.

“… works with Claude Code for now”: under that company rule, Codex llamas don’t start yet. Switch the llama to Claude Code in its settings, or an owner or admin can let llamas use people’s own accounts (Settings → AI keys → Llamas on Macs).

“The Anthropic API key was rejected”: the key that pays for that project was revoked or ran out of credit. Replace it in Settings → AI keys (⋯ → Replace the key).

Stop a llama: press Stop on its run card.

Didn’t get the email code? Check spam, then press Send a new code. Codes work for 15 minutes.

Google sign-in in the Mac app opens your browser. Finish there and let it open Llamabyt again.

“This comes with …”: you’ve reached a limit of your plan. The prompt shows what the next plan adds.

Access code not working: codes are case-insensitive but can expire, run out of uses, or be meant for a different plan. A code that lasts some months is for monthly billing.

“The last payment didn’t go through”: the card was declined or has expired. The person who pays presses Update card (in Settings → Plan); the plan keeps working while Paddle tries again. Plans can’t change until the payment goes through.
